Superb Home Remodeling handles home remodeling in Bristol, PA — kitchens, bathrooms, basements and additions in one of the oldest boroughs in Pennsylvania. We are a licensed general contractor, and we file the permit and run the inspections as part of the job.

Bristol Borough is not Bristol Township

They are two separate municipalities with two separate code offices, and confusing them is the most common way a Bristol project starts late. Permits for borough addresses go through the Bristol Borough Code Enforcement Department at the borough offices, 250 Pond Street, Bristol, PA 19007, (215) 785-4501. Township addresses go to Bristol Township’s own Building & Planning Department on Bath Road. We confirm which one holds your parcel before filing anything.

A borough of old houses

Bristol was settled in 1681 and chartered in 1720, making it the third-oldest borough in Pennsylvania. The Bristol Historic District and the Bristol Industrial Historic District were both listed on the National Register in 1987, and together they take in more than 300 contributing buildings ranging from Georgian through Victorian. Rowhouses, twins and early frame houses dominate, and they come with the conditions that age brings: shared party walls, original joist spans, plaster over lath, and stacked plumbing that was never meant to move.

The borough counts about 9,970 residents and roughly 4,175 housing units, 61.0% of them owner-occupied. Median owner-occupied value is $271,100 against a median household income of $76,042 — the most attainable entry point of any of the Bucks County towns we work in, and a good part of why we see so much full-gut kitchen and bath work here rather than cosmetic updates.

What we build in Bristol

Working on a rowhouse or twin

Party-wall houses need a different sequence than detached houses. Structural work is coordinated with the neighbor’s wall in mind, dust and access are controlled from day one because there is no side yard to stage from, and plumbing relocations are planned around a stack that serves more than one floor. We price that work knowing it, rather than discovering it after demolition.

Questions Bristol homeowners ask

Is my address borough or township?

We confirm it from the parcel record before we file. It determines the office, the fee schedule and the inspection process.

Can you work in the historic district?

Yes. Exterior work in a historic district can carry review requirements beyond the standard permit, so we confirm the scope with the borough before pricing.

Can the project be financed?

Yes — see renovation financing for the lenders we work with.
